Sugar-dusted Strawberry Cake

This simple cake comes together quickly and is so pretty. Try it with a scoop a vanilla ice cream.

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9-inch cake pan with cooking spray.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
Combine the sugar and butter in the bowl of an electric mixer; beat until light and fluffy. Add the dry ingredients; mix just until blended. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add the lemon juice; mix until combined.
Spoon the batter into the prepared pan. Arrange the strawberry halves over the batter, cut side down. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar.
Bake until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
