Peanut Butter Glazed Popcorn is a treat you and the kids will love, but here’s a treat that’s for Mom’s only: No-Sew Costumes! Even if you can’t sew a stitch you can create a magical, one of a kind costume for your trick-or-treater!
For an easy Lady Bug costume, start with black sweatpants, a black sweatshirt and a black baseball cap. Add a red fleece vest. Cut out black felt circles and attach them to the vest with fabric glue. Attach pipe cleaner “antennae” to the baseball cap with black electric tape.
How about a Mouse? Begin with gray sweatpants and hooded sweatshirt. Cut out a large pink felt oval and apply it with fabric glue to the center of the sweatshirt to create a “belly”. Safety pin a long piece of gray cord or string to the sweatpants for a tail. Cut out 2 gray felt circles and 2 slightly smaller pink circles for the ears. Make a cut from edge to center in each of the circles; overlap the cut edge of each slightly to form an ear shape. Hot glue the pink piece on top of the gray and fasten the ears to the sweatshirt hood with hot glue or double sided tape. Use eyeliner to add a black nose and whiskers.
Get hopping and make a Halloween Frog costume! Start with green sweatpants, a green sweatshirt and a plastic headband. For the frog eyes, cut 4 ovals out of green felt. Glue 2 ovals together to create a 1 stiff oval. Repeat with remaining 2 ovals. Glue large plastic “google eyes” near one end of each oval. Glue the opposite end of each oval to the underside of the headband. Toad-ally cool!
Easy. Adorable. Have a happy, no-sew Halloween!
Directions
HEAT oven to 300°F. Spray rimmed baking sheet with no-stick cooking spray.
PLACE popped popcorn in a very large bowl or Dutch oven.
COMBINE peanut butter, corn syrup, butter and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to boil. Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir to combine.
POUR warm peanut butter mixture over popcorn, stirring gently to combine. When all popcorn appears evenly coated with peanut butter mixture, spread evenly on prepared baking sheet.
