More of this, less of that
We can make big changes in our lives by stating with little ones.
If you’re like me, you’re focused on health and wellness – and doing the best we can for our families, and ourselves. I like to take the “more and less” approach by eating more of the foods that are good for me and less of those that aren’t. It’s finding lower fat, lower sugar varieties of our favorite foods. It’s about adding more whole grains. With that in mind, here are 3 small “feel good” steps to help you and your family adopt the more and less lifestyle:
1. Reduce the fat and sugar in everyday meals: Make your PB&J with Jif Reduced Fat Peanut Butter Spread and Smucker’s Sugar Free Jams and Preserves.
2.Increase whole grains: When a recipe calls for 1 cup flour, use ¼ cup whole-wheat flour and ¾ cup all purpose flour. As your family’s tastes adjust, slowly increase the ratio of whole wheat flour.
3.Make it fun: Get creative and try new things. Spread Jif Peanut Butter over a whole grain English muffin, then sprinkle with raisins and diced apple for a fun snack.
