Mixed Berry Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

Fresh food is naturally beautiful but you can make it more so with a few simple steps.

Plating up pretty food starts with thinking about how you’ll serve it. Food served in courses is not only more appetizing, it’s practical. A cool crisp salad stays that way when it’s not sharing the plate with a sizzling entrée.

When you get ready to plate up a meal choose a plate that’s just right for each course. Avoid overcrowding and instead allow for plenty of space around the food. I like to think of the plate as a frame and the food as the art inside it.

Plan menus that have plenty of contrast in color and texture. I choose Dole Salad Blends and Salad Kits because each one is artfully combined for great taste, texture and beautiful appearance. Directions

Mix vinegar and honey in a small bowl. Whisk in olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.

Combine salad blend and berries in a large bowl. Add vinaigrette and gently toss to coat. Arrange salad on plates. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and almonds.

Yield:	4-6 servings

What's Needed:

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 pkg. (8 oz.) bag DOLE® Mediterranean or Spring Mix Salad blend
1/2 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds
