Grilled Asian Orange Chicken
Cooking authentic Asian food at home is easy if you have the right ingredients on hand.
Soy sauce is a familiar Asian ingredient. It’s dark and salty and made from fermented soybeans and roasted wheat or barley. ?Fresh ginger is an important ingredient in Asian cuisine and you’ll be impressed by what even a small amount does to make your dish taste authentic.? You can peel away the papery skin from fresh ginger with the back of a kitchen spoon, then grate it with a microplane or box grater. Lime juice adds a sparkle of authentic flavor to Asian dishes, too.
For delicious Asian chicken on the grill, create a simple marinade with these ingredients. It’ll turn out great every time if you follow a few simple steps. Spray the grill grate with Crisco No Stick Cooking Spray, then get your grill good and hot. Cook the chicken breasts about 5-6 minutes per side and let them rest before slicing them.
Want to know my secret technique to add even more sweet and tangy flavor? Brush the chicken breasts with just a little orange marmalade. You can find more summer grilling recipes and cooking tips at Crisco.com
Directions
1.REMOVE cooking rack from grill; heat grill to medium high. Spray cooking rack with no-stick cooking spray; replace on grill.
2.COMBINE oil, soy sauce, lime juice and ginger in small bowl; mix well. Transfer to resealable food storage bag or shallow dish.
3.ADD chicken, turning to coat; close bag or cover dish. Marinate in refrigerator 30 minutes. While chicken is marinating, melt orange marmalade in microwave on MEDIUM (50% power).
4.REMOVE chicken from marinade; place on prepared grill (discard marinade). Brush with half the melted orange marmalade. Cook about 5 to 6 minutes. Turn and brush with remaining marmalade; cook an additional 5 to 6 minutes until chicken is no longer pink in center.
