Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies
Ask any teacher how to help your child be successful in school and the answer will always include “sit down together as a family”. Nothing fussy, nothing fancy, simply time spent together, away from the distractions of our increasingly busy lives!
Here are some ideas to make that time special:
Alert your family when dinner is 15 minutes away. Use that time for everyone to pitch in to set the table, pour drinks and toss the salad.
Create a warm, relaxed mood. A bowl of apples or a pot of flowers make the table inviting. Dimmed lights or candles and soft music can calm and relax everyone after a busy day.
Wait for everyone to be seated and acknowledge gratitude for the meal before starting. Let the kids share their gratitude, too.
Choose family-friendly meals the kids will look forward to, like Grilled Chicken Breast with Zesty Peanut Sauce.
Be a role model for the family by not taking calls or texting during dinner. Bring the family, not their phones, to the table!
Be realistic about how long the meal will last, but don’t lose sight of how important event those few minutes are to all of you as a family. Fudgy Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies or Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies are a great way to end the meal on a sweet note.
