Burger in a Bowl

Simple garnishes do a lot for food. A quick drizzle of sour cream, a sprinkling of croutons or crumbled bacon makes soup special. A scattering of chopped herbs, nuts or lemon zest makes any entrée more enticing. Simply criss-crossing asparagus stalks and serving the meat on top makes dinner seem like a night on the town. And a dessert looks more luscious with a dusting of powdered sugar, shaved chocolate or fresh berries and mint. You can also add style by changing up how you serve favorite recipes. Layer blueberries, crumbled pie crust and whipped cream in a parfait glass for a new spin on blueberry pie. Or serve your burger in a bowl, not on a bun.
Serve burgers on a bowl of crisp and nutritious Dole Seven Lettuces. (I love Seven Lettuces it because it’s a superfood for your heart with fiber, potassium, folate, vitamin B6, magnesium, vitamin C and antioxidants but you can use your favorite Dole salad blend). Then get creative tossing in your favorite burger toppings like tomatoes, cheese, chopped onion and pickles. Maybe you like a bacon cheeseburger? Toss in a little crisply cooked bacon and shredded cheese. Or a mushroom and blue cheese burger? Once you’ve created your perfect salad base, top it with a freshly grilled burger and a drizzle of Thousand Island dressing. There you have it- a Dole Burger in a Bowl salad. You can find more salad inspiration and quick family meal ideas at Dole.com
