Even though social networking sights have skyrocketed with the birth of Twitter, Facebook and the like – it may come as a surprise – but these trendy networks may actually NOT be the best way to find real friends and make effective relationships to advance your life and career! Keith Ferrazzi, author of the national bestseller of Never Eat Alone has penned a follow-up book, Who’s (really) Got Your Back

According to Keith, while  extremely popular and a good way to meet people…social networking may actually NOT be the best way to find true friendships…especially with people who can help you advance your life and career!   Ferrazzi says that in today’s busy climate with layoffs, a shaky economy and “instant-messaging friendships,” it’s critical to know who you can count on, how you can find friends and how they can help you achieve your very best!” On average, people used to have 3 people they could count on, but that number is down to 2. Keith says its important to build deeper, more trusting “lifeline relationships”  and by weeding out the Tweets and Facebooks -only friends, you can find  these true relationships with those people who really have your back and who are really in your corner! By identifying these friends, you’ll be able to grow personally and professionally.
