Barbara Unell is a parent educator, author, and mother of twins. She is the parenting expert for the online resource OUR 365 and the author of several parenting books, and has has been instrumental in bringing together educators, community leaders, and parents through such ventures as “Kindness is Contagious…Catch it”. a school based education project as well as Uncle Dan’s Report Card pilot program in school districts in Kansas.

She joined me today to talk about her book Uncle Dan’s Report Card and she shared these thoughts on successful parenting:

1.) The 2 greatest factors in a child’s life are the home and school.
2.) Think about your child’s temperament and respect his uniqueness.
3.) Be a good role model.
4.) Communicate with your child.
