Pretty Porch Pot
Add a burst of fresh color with a few simple steps:
1. Make sure whatever container you use has drainage holes. Coffee filters over the drainage holes work great to stop the soil from running out when you water.
2. Try Fertilome and Osmocote for great planting mix and fertilizer.
3. Choose the right plants for the location. Here’s a great selection for a shady container.
Coleus:
Proven Selections: Fishnet Stockings (part sun/shade) Lacy pink and lime green
Proven Selections: Dark Star (part sun/shade) Deep purple
Blue Ribbon Blooms: Rose (Part sun/shade)
Spotted Dead Nettle
Proven Selections: White Nancy (part sun/shade) perennial
I also tucked in red twig dogwood sticks and a little ceramic mushroom-and voila! I love it.
