Mid-summer updates: 5 things to perk up your yard
Mid-summer is the perfect time to inject some new energy into your yard. Consider these small changes for big results.
1. Add black: for weight and importance. Use wrought iron, painted accents or metal sculpture/
2. Add a hard surface. It will stop the eye from wandering across a sea of plants and defines the framework of a landscape. You can use a large terra cotta pot, stepping stones, or a large decorative rock.
3. Add mirror: placing a mirror in the garden makes any space seem larger and adds sparkle. They’re great against a house or garage wall.
4. Add lanterns: Lanterns add whimsy and a party atmosphere. hang them from your trees, or your patio umbrella. Since they aren’t permanent, so you can change the colors or styles with each season.
5. Add scent- a pot of herbs- lavender, thyme, mint, for a welcoming, earthy aroma.
