May 29th Show: Kicking off Summer
After what seemed like months of rain and clouds, we’ve gotten a break just in time for Memorial Day weekend, my official start of Summer! I’m hoping we see many more sunny days ahead so that I can get back to my favorite summer past-times, gardening, grilling and evenings outside by the fire.
It’s great to bring small changes to your home that reflect the season. Lighten and brighten for summer. I shared 10 tips to perk up any space. Implement one, two or all ten for instant freshness.
It was great to talk to Jamie Purviance, one of my grilling heroes. He shared clever tips and basic rules for great grilling. One of these days I will try his grilled chocolate souffle recipe!
Who doesn’t love a great steak on the grill? Certified Angus Beef Brand’s Mary McMillen shared her experiences in NYC at the James Beard Foundation’s pop-up store and at the Culinary Institute of America’s annual awards dinner. She met lots of culinary luminaries there, including Jacque Pepin!
Jacque would approve of Bryn Mooth’s love for great food- and preserved lemons! The woman behind Writes4Food.com shared her thoughts on lemons and more. I think both she and her blog are just great!
Summerfair is great, too! Amy Scalia shared the details for this annual Cincinnati event. Check it out, it’s another sure sign of summer!
