I saw these lace-covered pumpkins in a magazine and loved them. Then I saw the “fine print”, which included sewing the lace on to the pumpkin. While I love sewing projects, it’s not my strong suit and I knew I had to find a way around picking up needle and thread.
Here’s what I came up with:
Gather faux pumpkins in assorted sizes (I love the look of all white pumpkins with black lace, but I’ve made some darling little orange ones and I think green would be spooky-glam, too.) Cut a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin (about 4 inches will do it)
Select lace in assorted patterns, the amount needed will depend on what size pumpkin you choose. Cut a small hole in the lace for the pumpkin stem to pop through.
Place the lace over the pumpkin, adjust so it lays smoothly. Gather the excess lace in a large rubber band. Tuck the “tail” into the hole in the bottom of the pumpkin.
There you have it, pretty lacy pumpkins!
