Holiday Tipping Guide
1. Any tipping plan starts with your own personal budget.
2. The tip amount also depends on the type and frequency of service you receive. A long-term service relationship should have a higher tip amount than an infrequent or new service.
3.If you tip all year (hair stylists, manicurists, etc) you don’t need to do an additional year- end tip. Add a bit to your regular tip, or include a small gift with your regular tip.
4 Massage therapists and personal trainers should get the cost of one session or a gift.
5.The rule of thumb for babysitters is one night’s pay and a small gift from the kids.
6. Day care providers should get $25-$70 per person and a small gift from your child.
7.Housecleaners should get up to 1 weeks pay and a small gift from you.
8.Newspaper delivery people should get about $10-30 each.
9.Trash collectors should get about $10-30 each.
10.Teachers should get a small gift and a personal note of thanks from you and the kids.
11 Mailmen cannot accept cash but they can accept small gifts that are not more than $20 in value.
