Get organized with a P-Touch
Nothing beats the feeling of being organized, with a place for everything and everything in its place. A P-Touch label maker can really help get you there. Try these tips and see if you don’t agree.
1. In the home office:
Label plugs, wires, USB cables and peripherals We all know how easy it is to disconnect the wrong device, and the tangle of cords for any family’s phones, computers, IPods and IPads can be a challenge. Label them. Now “Printer” or “Mom’s IPad” are easy to identify. Label makers are great to identify memory sticks and portable hard drives, too.
Files and Folders Create a really neat and tidy filing system by using a label maker to identify files. Tax records, warranties and insurance policies can be labeled with the P-touch. You can even color code files according to category, such as personal, household, business, etc.
CD’s and DVD’s No more wondering what’s on that disc!
2. In the Kitchen:
Spice drawer: It’s nice to buy spices from spice shops and take them home to store in your own spices jars or bottles. Label them to avoid having to sniff – or guess- what’s what. Spices should be used within 6 months to a year for maximum quality, so add a date label for when they went into your spice collection.
Utensil drawer: help everybody know where to put the citrus reemer, carrot peeler or potato masher by labeling the openings in a drawer organizer.
Kitchen Cupboards: stick a label on things that can be hard to identify – like flour canisters- whole wheat, all-purpose, pastry flour.
Freezer: don’t find yourself guessing about mystery packages you find in the freezer. Label them with the contents, date they went in and re-heating instructions.
3. In the linen closet and off-season storage:
Linen closet: make sheets easy to identify by labeling the shelf with “Queen” or “Twin” labels.
Off-season storage: P-touch labels help you distinguish which box or bin has Christmas decorations from the one that holds Halloween décor or winter boots.
4. In the garage and garden shed:
Toolbox: Label the openings your toolbox or parts boxes to make it easy to replace items where they belong.
Key storage: Label keys and make a label with the VIN number for your each vehicle.
Garden shed: Label seedling pots so that you remember what’s sprouting
