An Autumn Window Box

Even though gardening season is over, don’t forget your window boxes. Simple touches will keep them looking great year round, and do wonders for your curb appeal, not to mention your soul!

Here are the design strategies: Balance, contrasts of color, texture, height and shape. A fool proof formula? Tall items in back, medium and rounded in the center and short and trailing in front.

I’ve added corn stalks and red twig dogwood twigs in back for height, mounds of pumpkins in the center and left the still-living ferns and sweet potato vines from my summer window boxes for trailers in front.
